September 2011 -

Hey Everyone!  Time is flying!  Life is very full...and here are a few of the things we did in September.....

We enjoyed our beautiful mountains...  Steve and Eric hiked Mount Timpanogas again with Steve's work team.

Cute Scotty started Pre-school.  And it is great!  He loves it.

Scotty taking "cool" lessons from the cool big brother... ha ha!

We remembered on 9/11.  This is us at a parade.

And us at the "Healing Field."  There are approximately 3,000 flags here, each representing someone who died on 9/11.

Each flag has a little card attached with some information about the person represented by the flag.  It was very touching..and sad.

We enjoyed some rivalry action during the BYU Utah game..which we won't talk about....  no we won't!

These two are still friends ofcourse...

Eric's birthday was extra wonderful ...  It started out with a visit to the Salt Lake Temple to do baptisms and then we met up with Craig after and had lunch at the Garden Restaurant at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

It was the sweetest day of celebration for these buddies...getting ready to send Craig off to the MTC!

Craig and Eric had a lot of fun catching up...It was one happy birthday for Eric

We had dessert first..really!  In honor of Grandpa Crowley.....

Thanks Di, Ron and Craig for a wonderful visit..and we love you Craig and wish you all the best in your mission...  Hurrah for Israel!

Jon participating in the Ward Party jello eating contest...

And ...He Won!

We enjoyed an Autumn hike....  beauty beauty every where... and great people to be with!

Michael and I got to go to a REAL soccer game!  It was good...  whoa ...and a whole new culture in Salt Lake.  Very cool though.  We wanted to call Spencer and ask him lots of questions ! And we thought of you a lot during the game..which we lost.

One of our favorite things about Fall is watching Jonathan play football ...!  Oh yeah!  He is down there..see him running... wish his number was facing the camera.

Christine and I bottled pears... we have been doing this for years... We love this happy day.. and I love her!!

Got this very vintage photo from our darling Aunt Medalou's scrapbook... More on that scrapbook later....   All of you sisters would have been fascinated!

Went to General Conference with this beautiful boy....

Jonathan would like to show off his football injury.    No, he didn't break his arm.....it is a bone bruise and a very large blood blister.  The photo doesn't even do justice.  It was awful to look at.  But, he was ok!  Strong bones!

We also celebrated Steve's Birthday...

Steve and I ran away to celebrate his birthday...

We ran away to Deer Valley to this place...

We stayed there in a room behind the octagon shaped windows.... It was so luxurious and cozy.

We wanted to have a weekend in Autumn Splendor...mountain biking and hiking but it snowed!!  And it was about 30 degrees ..so we watched a movie (Harry Potter) and ate at the Bangkok Thai on Main Restaurant on Main Str. Park City.  It was great.

Then we went back to the hotel and enjoyed the plushy bathrobes next to the fireplace...It was just so nice.

We didn't have to rush off anywhere and were given a late check out....which was divine.

Happy Birthday to you Steve...  and in case you all didn't know it.. I love this man....oh so much.

Then we went down to the Valley and to this amazing concert that Joseph participated in .  700 singers directed by Mac Wilberg..It was so great!  And we are so glad Joseph got to participate in something this wonderful.

Next day, we had a big dinner with Steve, Leslie, Alex, Ken, Kandis, Mike, Cathy, Chris, Aaron, Christine, Zach, Emily, Nate, and Abbey.

And as a big bonus, we had Alex share a report on his mission to Thailand.   We hung on every word...... Alex.  Fascinating... joyous...  We loved it.

Thanks Alex...

We love missionaries...

We talked as long as we could, laughed much, wrung our hands and made plans on how we would handle the coming of the end of the world.....

Then had cake...Steve's birthday cake!  He is now 37!  Didn't you know 40 is the new 30?

Anticipation...  make a wish... and blow those candles out the Knudsen way.

By this time Cathy, Mike, Chris and Steve, Leslie and Alex had to leave... but these crazy people stayed behind.  Fun!  So glad you all could share this moment with us.

Happy Birthday Steve ..we love you!

We love these get togethers..  Thanks everyone for making the effort to come together.  The dinner was great ..the company even better!

See you all next month!
