Christmas 2011

Things we want to remember about Christmas Season 2011

Christmas Concerts and Programs--
Michael's darling and fun concert at Albion Middle School.  His cute and funny reluctance to participate but ending up really enjoying it.  But, I did get some very funny pictures.

Joseph's AWESOME Christmas Concert at Hillcrest Highschool.  Wow!  And, their awesome annual performance in the Forgotten Carols with Michael Mclean.  Just wonderful.

We also attended the BYU Christmas concert!  It was fabulous.  Ben and Paul Schmidt performed in it.

Jon's overly enthusiastic applause to the BYU Choir to please his mother... Ha ha!

I always LOVE all of those school programs...  Scotty particpated in a darling preschool program... I loved it!

Sister Patti Garriott gave me a gingerbread house kit.. She is so kind.  I just mentioned that I wanted to do this with my children and the next day she had delivered a kit to our house.  So sweet.. wow.  We had fun putting together a gingerbread house...

It is time together doing these simple Christmasy things that makes Christmas a truly special time...

Not needing more stress in my life, I did most of my shopping online... and that was nice.. but Steve and I did brave the crowds and the Malls a couple of times.

I so love Christmas music!

Beautiful tree....

House decorated so nice...

Jonathan going to the Christmas/Winter formal with that darling, beautiful, smart girl Terra Wunderlei.  It was his first highschool dance.  They made a sharp couple.  It was so much to watch... I loved it!

The Forgotten Carols... Joseph performed...enjoyed it so much.

A special Christmasy evening with the Haruch family... sang at a resthome and then went to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point and then to their home after... where we ate pizza and watched Scrooge.... Also got some wonderful sister time with Christine..  talking and laughing as went in search of Pizza.
There was such a feeling of peace in their home while we hung out and watched the movie... we loved it.

Loved watching Christmas movies...

Sunny clear Days... no snow

Christmas Eve spent with Schmidts and singing for Grandma Knudsen ...so sweet and so good.  Hurried up to Primary Children's Hospital to drop off our donation of fleece blankets.  We hope they bring comfort to some of the sick children at the hospital.  We drove around Temple Square to see the lights and then returned home to our own Christmas Eve celebration complete with a short video about how Wise men still seek him...

Proud of this boy...  playing a song for Grandma

The Schmidt boys performing a song together... always amazing...  I hope we evolve into doing the same thing together with our boys in the years to come... very soon.

Oh what to do with that crazy hair of mine... but that is one super cute 10 year old -Jacob- I have on my lap.. :)

Leanne performing something beautiful on the piano...

Scott.. just hanging out...

My favorite part of Christmas morning is seeing the boys give gifts to each other...

Memorable Gifts.... ipods, the flying shark, shake and go race track

Steve, checking to see if Santa came this year.

And, look he did!

The line up...

This is how it shakes down this year.. They are all getting too big..

Oh yeah!

Michael begged and begged and begged and talked non stop about hoping to get an ipod nano.  And Santa found one and brought.. Christmas wishes come true!!!

and so did this long wished for item...

And, this darling boy was just delighted with what Santa brought..

He is also a big fan of anything "batman!"

And this fine young man received an ipod (again) hurray!!!!!

Then began the brother gifts.. my favorite part.. when they give to each other...
This is so much fun.. to see the excitement and love they feel in giving and receiving to and from each other.

Jacob just loves this Wii game!!!

Oh yeah baby.. a lava lamp...

Oh yeah, the essential accessory for the well dressed cool man.. undershirts!

Only a brother would know that Eric really wanted this game.

Christmas Morning fell on a Sunday.  So we opened some gifts and then attended church.  After, we came home and ate a yummy stuffed french toast breakfast wtih sparkling cider..   Then finished up opening gifts and just enjoyed the day together.

And this is the glorious aftermath...   ha ha!

Jonathan giving that new guitar a try..

yes.. the glorious aftermath..

Christmas afternoon dinner....

Christmas Night open house for the College Age Knudsen cousins.  So fun ... Steven, Jason, Ben, Paul, Schmidt, Stephanie, Kevin and Nate Knudsen, and Darin Knudsen came along with Uncle Rod and Aunt Barbara Scmidt.. and we just loved hanging around watching those cute kids talk and laugh.. What a great way to end Christmas day.

Wednesday after Christmas the Crowley cousins met up at the Draper Temple to do Baptisms.  What a sweet experience that was... Cathy, Christine and I did initiatory work .. and got some great sister time in.  I love that.

We gave Christine and Aaron a Christmas jar full of money .. Eric snuck it into their car after we went to the temple.  I think it had about 150.00 in it.  We had decided as a family not to send out Christmas cards or do neighbor gifts so that we could give them some much needed help...  Aaron lost his job right before Thanksgiving and so we thought this would be a good place to help someone at Christmas.

The sweetest thing  happened.. on Christmas morning someone left a jar of money for us on the porch.  I am assuming that someone did that so we could pass it on to the Haruch's since I put a note on Facebook that we were doing something for someone and not sending out Cards....  Very touching... took my breath away.

And thus it was that the Knudsen Family had another wonderful Christmas...
