Sunday Posts March 16 2014

Sunday March 16th 2014

I have decided that I am going to really really try to write a post once a week.in an effort to keep a family history.  I really had fun with blogging a few years ago and now I have a wonderful family history that I will treasure forever.   I quit blogging because life got really hard.  I kept trying to write about it, but it was too darn sad and hard.  So I have a whole list of unpublished posts that I find hard to even read.  But, it is there.. it is part of our story ...  and I am glad I have a record of our experiences there oh and even better ones in my personal journals.

I realize this blog is just for us.. and I really should make it private... and I will get to that as soon as I can but for now, I will really really try to write about our week each Sunday.

So, last week...

It is official...  there's this sign in our front yard.   It is a bit surreal.. and makes me sigh with sadness.   We have lived here in this wonderful house on this wonderful circle for the past 13 years.  So, it is kind of strange to think we are leaving all we know and love and starting a new life in Omaha NE.   But, we are excited too for our future adventures.   And, we are grateful for our blessings.

I would say last week was just pure FUN.  It was a good week.  I couldn't believe it but the boys made their beds.. I was breathless with wonder and appreciation to walk into their rooms and see this... what?  no clothes on the floor?  Beds Made?   Yahoo!  Totally made my day!

Every night I provided a small treat..  One night it was frozen ho ho's  (Joe's idea)  Another night it was Skinny Cow Icecream sandwiches.. well ya know, how can we eat desserts every night?  But, the result of this unhealthy practice was to gather the family together to laugh and talk and then have family prayer and scriptures.  Steve joined us via facetime a couple of the nights and that was great.  It was great to just be together and strengthen our relationships with each other.   I enjoyed it and I think the boys did too.

I had a lot of fun talking with Jonathan and Joe and they are doing better.  Joe applied for UVU this Fall.    Jon is chugging along.. finishing up his last class so he can graduate early from BHS.   He is moving in the right direction.

We celebrated Joe's birthday all weekend.  We ate a Chick Fil A Friday night.  Watched Steve Jobs .. "Jobs" movie.  Quite inspiring.  On Saturday, we went to Frozen .. one last time.. in the theater.  Sunday we had a birthday dinner, birthday pie and presents.

I slept more this past week, played more than I have in 3 months!  It felt so very good.

Eric sent an email saying he got his "Trunky Papers."   Hard to believe but so good..  I miss him and though I am glad he is out and I wish in some ways it wouldn't end, we are so ready to have him back.   So tomorrow we will chat on line about his after mission plans.

Scotty was very sick this past week.  I hope he feels better tomorrow but I am worried about him.  He is not himself.   He sleeps a lot and just seems to be fighting something.   He was excited about primary today.  The lesson was on being missionaries.  He was excited to have a name tag of his own.  I am going to buy him a real one.

Must go to bed.  We have three potentail buyers coming to see our house tomorrow.  I will be cleaning and cleaning until 10:30 .. hope i make it.
