March 23 2014

The days are turning more beautiful every day and time keeps marching on!

Jonathan has decided to graduate early.  So, he is finishing up highschool with an online class and goes to seminary every day.   So, we are encouraging him to get a job and do a variety of things to continue to learn.  He has decided to go to school at UVU this Fall.  This is not what he had planned.  He had decided to go straight onto his mission this summer, and I could not convince him to go ahead and apply to BYUI, get accepted and then defer to serve a mission.  He regrets he didn't follow my advice!  The deadlines for BYUI have passed but not for UVU, so he has decided to go there.  He decided that one semester of college would do him some good.     He has decided to ask a girl he knew and liked in kindergarten (Claire Anderson) to prom.  She actually goes to Alta High.   Jon and his friends are all asking girls from other schools, so they are in it together.   Jon is has made up words to another song and will sit on her porch and play the guitar and sing a little song about how they were friends in kindergarten (his two friends will be there and will hold up pictures from kindergarten with Claire and Jon circled)  hee hee!  I hope she says yes.....   So we shall see.  It is good to see Jonathan come back alive after struggling so so very much.   You may not know but he struggled with depression.  It was awful!   He has been on medication for probably 8 weeks now and we have our old Jonny boy back.

I am taking Joseph to the DR this week because honestly I think he has suffered from the same thing.  He just doesn't communicate well and pushes help away.....  but has finally opened up to us that he made need help as well.....     Joseph is still the kind, fair, generous and respectful person he has always been...     Ahhhh mortality.. and all of its trials!  But, we are doing very well...  So thankful for the Gospel and good friends and family.

Michael is running track!  He is running to pretty tough races.. He is getting BIG.  The other day I had all of your brothers with me at Costco and Michael is almost bigger than Jon and Joe.   It was quite a moment to be surrounded by 3 big guys and know that you are out there..... and knowing that Jacob is going to sprout this next year.  Your brothers were so funny walking beside me in Costco acting like my body gaurds telling people to move aside....  and such .  It was hilarious!     I do so love being a mom of all my splendid Young Men!  You are all a blessing in my life.

Jacob has been really sick the past two days...  stomach flu .. but is feeling better today.   Hooray!

Scott is reading quite well these days and making great progress.   He is such a little man.. trying so hard to keep up with all of you.  I do encourage him to be a little boy.  I dont' want him to miss his childhood.   He has been watching Arthur lately and really loves it.  :)    He doesn't watch much tv or movies for that matter.   He really doesn't care much.   He plays a lot with his multitudes of neighborhood friends.  And, we find him upstairs playing alone with his toys ... and it is just like a scene out of Toy Story.  He creates scenarios and speaks all different voices and combines his toys together in play that is so dang cute.   We try not to disturb the childhood magic!
